Science tables are heavy-duty and specifically designed to withstand high temperatures and exposure to chemicals. The majority of science tables are made from a stainless steel or wooden frame with an epoxy resin top, which sets them apart from standard classroom tables. Epoxy resin tops are chemical, flame, and heat-resistant and can withstand a large amount of pressure without denting or cracking. Choosing the correct science tables allows students and teachers to explore and create without the worry of damaging the furniture. At Today’s Classroom, we provide our customers with top-of-the-line science lab necessities to ensure students have a safe space to discover and grow.

Choosing the Best Science Table for Your Classroom

Science classroom tables create a safe and welcoming learning environment for students. Before purchasing your new science tables, your biggest consideration should be student age. The age of the students using the tables generally determines the types of experiments you will be doing, which in turn will help you determine the types of tables you need.

  • For early childhood & basic level science classes, high-pressure laminate is the perfect cost-effective option, as you are likely not working with harsh chemicals or high heat. High-pressure laminate tables have a particle board core and are not heat-resistant.
  • However, as you get into middle school, you will likely want chemical-resistant tables. They also have a particle board core, but are covered with chemical-resistant laminate. These tables are resistant to most common classroom chemicals and can withstand frequent experiments and cleaning. These tables ARE NOT heavy-duty.
  • For high school-level experiments and above, phenolic resin or epoxy resin is a must. Phenolic resin can handle dry ice, freezing temperatures, and heat (up to 350 ॰F). Epoxy resin can withstand open-flame heat and is chemical-resistant. Epoxy resin is the go-to for professional environments.

Another consideration would be accessories. Choose tables that include accessories that benefit your classroom and experiment needs. We offer many accessory options, including book wells, shelves, gas connections, and power outlets. Be sure that whatever classroom science tables you choose, your students are set up for success!
