How MooreCo Can Help

Posted by MooreCo on 19th Mar 2020

High traffic environments, such as schools and offices, are especially vulnerable to the spread of bacteria and viruses. Choosing the right surfaces and fabrics helps to reduce the risk of cross contamination and keeps your students, staff, and guests safer.

That’s why we’ve always prioritized the health and safety of our customers, designing products with wellness in mind. We put a lot of thought into creating furniture and office items from materials that are beautiful, functional, durable, and anti-microbial. Below, you’ll find information on the materials we use for our products and how they can assist you in staying well all year long.

1. Porcelain Steel

Porcelain steel is naturally resistant to bacteria, and the smooth surface is easy to disinfect with common household cleaners. This high quality surface is available on boards and is now available on our best selling Hierarchy Shapes Desk, providing an exceptionally versatile and safe desktop material.

2. Silicone Fabrics

Choosing fabrics that are non-permeable and high performance ensures that your soft seating pieces are easy to wipe down and disinfect, and stay looking good for years. Silicone blend fabrics such as Momentum Textile’s Silica family, are not only environmentally responsible and ink-erasable, but are naturally anti-microbial and anti-bacterial.

3. Standard Vinyl

The standard vinyl used on our vinyl covered tackboards is treated with an antimicrobial to resist the growth of most microbes, including mildew and bacteria. It stands up against commonly encountered bacteria such as staph, strep, and fungal spores including black mold and pink stain.

4. Colored Cork

The materials used to make our Colored Cork surface create a surface that is self-sanitizing and naturally inhibits contaminates. The blend of oxidized linseed oil, dry pigments, and granulated cork with rosin binders creates a washable surface that is self-healing, low reflection, and will not promote the spread of germs.

5. HPL

A large number of our furniture pieces and our Dura-Rite® Whiteboards are finished with HPL, which is low porosity and easy to keep clean and sanitary. HPL also holds up to wear and tear better than standard melamine surfaces. A wipe down with household antibacterial wipes between uses will keep these common surfaces ready to use.

We're here to support you.

When planning your home office or contemplating which materials would be best suited for your office or school upon return, remember to choose products that will last and keep you and your community safe. We guarantee the highest quality products, with an awareness of well-being at the core of everything we create.
