Califone Programming Got It! Remotes

With up to 253 remotes capable of operating within a single Got It! student response system, sometimes it can be tough to keep track of all of them.

If one has been misplaced, you’ll obviously want to backtrack to figure out where the misplaced remote might have ended up, or perhaps this is the reason needed to purchase a 5-pack of spare student remotes to have on hand in case this situation crops up again, but since it’s easier to keep track of student replies if all of the remotes are sequentially numbered (not skipping any), some quick reprogramming is necessary. Fortunately with the Got It! student response system, this is a quick fix that doesn’t require a call to “tech support” to remedy.

The steps to reprogram a remote are in fact the same ones taken to initially program them back when the system was first purchased and installed, except now all of the remotes except one are already set up.

To program a student remote control:

  1. Slide the battery compartment out.
  2. Press the DOWN ARROW and “=” buttons simultaneously. Hold.
  3. Slide the battery compartment back in. Release the DOWN ARROW and “=”.
  4. Enter ID # from 001 – 253, i.e. 001, 123.

However if the tables have been turned and the teacher remote instead is missing, this too can be fixed by reprogramming a spare student remote control:

  1. Slide the battery compartment out.
  2. Press the DOWN ARROW and UP ARROW buttons simultaneously. Hold.
  3. Slide the battery compartment back in. Release the DOWN and UP arrows.
  4. Enter ID #255 (which always identifies the teacher’s remote).

These quick and easy steps can get you and your students back on track using Got It! to better engage them in class
