Q1: What makes prison furniture different from standard institutional furniture? 

A1: Correctional furniture must meet ACA and Federal Bureau of Prisons standards. Products are required to be durable, non-porous, anti-ligature, and tamper-resistant. Standard institutional furniture does not meet these specifications and cannot be placed in a prison or correctional facility.

A4: Anti-ligature furniture has no anchor points, protrusions, or gaps that could be used for self-harm. Beds, desks, and seating from Cortech and Norix are available with anti-ligature specifications. Confirm compliance on individual product listings before ordering.
