Collaborative Desks

Collaborative student desks are a great seating option for students of all ages. These types of desks come in different shapes, allowing the desks to fit together like a puzzle, creating small groups out of individual desks. These types of seating arrangements are beneficial as they encourage discussion and hands-on activities between classmates. According to Cornell University, this deepens students' understanding of concepts, helps develop communication skills, and promotes a sense of belonging. Allow Today’s Classroom to provide you with the collaborative desks you have been searching for.

Collaborative Student Desks for Student Development

At Today’s Classroom, we carry different shapes and sizes of collaborative student desks, such as:

  • Individual Desks - Allow students to sit with others while still having their own workspace.
    • Trapezoid - Make groups of 5 easily with these types of desks.
    • Rectangle - Create groups as big or small as you would like. Rectangle desks fit together to create larger, rectangular groups.
    • Triangle - Easily create groups of 4 students. The triangle desks create a square when put together.
    • Diamond - 6 diamond-shaped desks fit together to create a circle group for students. For smaller groups, put 2 or 3 desks together. Available in bundles.
  • Table Desks - Students sit together at a large, table-like desk that requires them to share a workspace.
    • Different shapes and styles available, some seating 2 - 4+ students

Which Collaborative Student Desks Will Best Help Your Students?

When choosing the best collaborative student desks for your space, it is important to keep the following in mind:

  • Student Age - All students benefit from collaborative learning; however, it is important to find the type that will work best for their age.
    • Older students benefit from table desks, as they can share their workspace with others.
    • Younger students benefit from having their own individual desk. This provides them with their own space and also teaches them responsibility as they are accountable for keeping their desk clean and organized.
  • Features - Review the different features that come with the collaborative desks before purchasing. Some of the features include adjustable height, desks on wheels, book storage, and different desktop materials.
  • Buying options - Save money by purchasing one of our desk bundles. This gets you the best price while also ensuring you have the right number of desks for your entire class.
  • Classroom Size - Taking into account the size of your room and the number of students will help you choose the most comfortable option for your classroom. Some desks fit together to create large groups of six, while others create smaller groups of 2 or 4.
