Technology in the Classroom

Technology has quickly made its way into schools and classrooms. Most learners are using laptops or tablets at some point during the school day to complete activities and lessons. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, nine out of ten public schools are providing their students with school-issued laptops or tablets for use. With so many students using devices each day, it is ideal for educators to have laptop storage and laptop charging stations in their classrooms.

Benefits of Technology

Incorporating technology into the classroom has been a game-changer for educators and schools. It has allowed teachers to go beyond the old textbooks and discover new teaching ideas and strategies. Specially designed apps and websites have been created for teachers and students to make learning engaging and fun. These websites can be utilized by teachers during inside recess for movement, singing, and fun!

Types of Laptop Storage

At Today’s Classroom, we carry a variety of laptop storage units to meet your needs. Our units charge and store devices such as laptops, tablets, and Chromebooks. They can hold eight, twelve, or sixteen devices at a time. Devices with 15” screens or smaller are easily stored in the carts. Features such as a ventilation fan keep the devices from overheating. Padded dividers keep the laptops from sitting on one another, and key locks help keep your devices protected and extend their lifespan.

Choosing Your Style

Our laptop storage units come in vertical or horizontal styles and can be mounted to the wall to save space or placed on a table or desktop. Consider your classroom before deciding which style you want. For smaller rooms, our experts recommend the wall-mounted option. They save room on tabletops, allowing you to optimize the space you have. They can also be mounted at different heights. Elementary teachers may want to mount the laptop storage units higher up so that young students can’t access them on their own. While middle and high school teachers may mount them at eye level to give students the freedom to take and return a laptop on their own during class time. For tabletop options, make sure you have a sturdy table to display the laptop storage on, such as a computer lab table or a STEM table. We also recommend tables on wheels, such as our flip-top tables. This will allow you to move the laptop storage boxes around the room and make them more accessible to the students.
